Travel advice, Travelguide

Did you know that during a 10 hour flight you lose 1,5-2 liters of water from your body? 😲 This means you´ll be not only exhausted and in bad mood, but your immune system will be weak and your skin will be like a dried raisin the next day! Keep reading to find out how to avoid this!

Why dehydration is bad?

Imagine arriving to your dream destination! Sounds heavenly, doesn´t it? Now imagine arriving there dehydrated and having one or more of the following:

  • Severe jetlag – dehydration makes it worse
  • Throbbing headaches
  • Unable to sleep due to muscle cramps
  • Bad mood and crankiness
  • Dry skin, dark eyebags
  • Constipation

Not exactly what you would expect from your vacation isn´t it? So here are the steps to follow!

Water

Drink double amount of water already the day before the flight!
That´s right, you have to start filling up your body with extra water already the day before your flight.
Once on the plane, be sure to drink 250ml water for every flight hour! This means more times in the bathroom unfortunately, but it´s worth it.

Alcohol

Don´t drink alcohol on plane (sorry, I cannot do that myself, there´s something too cool about flying to a tropical island and having some wine to celebrate it on plane!🙈) But if you really want to arrive beautiful and healthy then skip alcohol as it dehydrates you even more!

Cosmetics

Have a hydrating sheet mask with you for using on the plane (people will freak out when they see you, do not pay attention to them!)
Use hydrating face creams that are recommended by flight attendants (because who else knows better) – if you´re on a budget try the Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel-cream and from the other end of the budget try out the Environ Intensive Super Moisturiser.
