Hammocks everywhere, even in the sea ๐Ÿ™‚

Things to do in Isla Holbox?

  • Casa Las Tortugas hotel – even if you cannot stay there, go for a drink or sun!
  • Have lunch at the Colibri restaurant on the main square, there is plenty to see during the time you wait for your food!
  • Drink mezcal (it is not from the island, but why not to drink it there ๐Ÿ™‚ – with slices of bitter orange and a bit of spicy chilli powder Tajin it becomes a ritual, a tasty one!
  • Visit Yalahau cenote – it is believed to have regenerative properties. In the old days the real pirates of the Carribean used to go there for fresh drinking water.
  • Spot flamingos near Passion Island – what a beautiful name, isnยดt it?
  • If youยดre interested in birds, go to the Bird Island, you will have enough to see
  • Eat Slow Food and get some Margaritas @ Raices beach restaurant listening live music
  • Eat lobster every way – grilled whole with mojo de ajo, as lobster ceviche or even a lobster pizza
  • Take a photo of the famous sea-hammocks
  • If you find a night when the moon is not out there, take a taxi and go to Punta Cocos to see the rare bioluminescence. Unfortunately the roads were flooded and we missed it ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
  • Enjoy and do nothing

Fot information: we stayed in Margaritas Hotel & Suites. It has great location next to center and a few steps from the most beautiful beach and the staff is super friendly. Rooms were clean but not too comfortable and wifi was only in the lobby area.
